An intra-district transfer allows students who live in Bloomington to request attendance at a school other than their neighborhood school.
Students who reside outside the city of Bloomington must complete the open enrollment process.
Students interested in the Gifted and Talented and Computer Science programs do not need to submit an intra-district transfer request. Transfers into these programs are managed by the individual departments, and placement is based on program capacity and available space.
Requesting an Intra-District Transfer
The window for 2026-27 intra-district transfers closed on Dec. 5. We are no longer accepting or approving transfer requests for the 2026-27 school year.
If you have concerns about your currently assigned school, please contact the school principal to discuss your concerns, explore options, and help ensure you have a positive experience at your assigned school.
The online application to request an intra-district transfer for the 2027-28 school year will open Monday, Nov. 2, 2026 and close Friday, Dec. 4, 2026 at 4 p.m.
